B2E CoLAB attends Aquaculture Europe 2023 in Vienna

B2E – Blue Bioeconomy CoLAB (B2E CoLAB) participated in Aquaculture Europe 2023, one of the biggest events in the aquaculture sector, which took place in Vienna, Austria, from September 18 to 21. With the goal of internationalization in mind, this participation was an opportunity to highlight the prominent role that B2E CoLAB played in promoting innovative solutions in this area.

“This participation fit in with our internationalization objectives, allowing us to present to a range of stakeholders the driving role we played in the blue bioeconomy sector,” said B2E CoLAB coordinator Maria Coelho.

The B2E CoLAB stand showcased some of the projects in which the institution was involved, reflecting its commitment to innovation and sustainability. In addition, B2E CoLAB represented two associates, INESC TEC and the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR), the latter with two specific projects: GREENAQUA and IGNITION. “This collaboration demonstrated B2E CoLAB’s ongoing commitment to promoting excellence and the research and technological capacity of its members,” said Maria Coelho.

Also as part of Aquaculture Europe, on September 21, B2E CoLAB held a conference on the results of the study carried out as part of the OmegaPeixe project, which addressed consumers’ willingness to pay more for fish enriched with omega-3.

This year, Aquaculture Europe 2023 was attended by 125 different organizations in the exhibitors’ area, demonstrating the growing importance of aquaculture in the global economy. The event also included a series of conferences, workshops, and scientific sessions, with more than two thousand participants.

With a stand located at number 96 of the Messe Wien Exhibition and Congress Center, B2E CoLAB’s participation was a strategic opportunity to promote the excellence of national research and innovation.
