From the bottom of the sea to the front line of innovation
Some people still think that the blue economy is all about the sea, fish, and boats. At B2E CoLAB, we see the ocean from a different perspective. For us, it’s also fabric and cosmetics, protein and energy, health and biotechnology. It’s innovation, transformation, and, above all, regeneration. This is where we operate: in a blue bioeconomy where science and industry meet to generate value, respecting the limits of the planet and regenerating its resources.
On June 6, at the Leixões Cruise Terminal, we will once again open this dialogue at Blue Wink-E 2025, an event with a clear purpose: to reinvent the future around the sea. Under the theme “Ocean in Loop”, we are launching the challenge of rethinking value chains, creating circular solutions and sustainable business models, with the ocean at the center of the discussion.
At B2E CoLAB, we don’t just produce knowledge. We build connections between researchers and companies, between ideas and solutions, between what is necessary and what is possible. We do this based on concrete realities: from new generations of seafood to blue biotechnology, from sustainable aquaculture to the opportunities that arise from the valorization of what was once considered waste. Our focus is on bringing science and the market together, driving innovation with real impact.
We believe that the sea can be an engine of development – but only if it is also an engine of balance. Talking about circularity in the ocean is not a poetic exercise. It’s a new economic paradigm that requires collaboration, vision, and the courage to challenge the status quo. That’s why we work with those who invest, regulate, research, and produce. And it’s also why we believe in strategic agendas, pilot programs, and partnerships that turn ideas into scalable solutions.
Blue Wink-E 2025 will be a privileged stage for this debate. We’re bringing in leading names in regenerative innovation and the blue economy, such as Wayne Visser, a world reference in ESG – and we have representatives from public policy, investment, and companies that are already making a difference. But more than names, the common vision is important: unlocking new value chains, driving sustainable solutions, and showing that it is possible to grow while caring.
That’s what B2E CoLAB is here for: to give visibility to what is still underwater. To prove that the blue bioeconomy is not just a promise for the future – it’s a reality in the making, made up of talent, science, ambition, and commitment. Because the sea is not just a resource. It’s an opportunity to live better.
