Blue Wink-E 2026, an international event dedicated to innovation in the blue and bioeconomy promoted by B2E – Blue Bioeconomy CoLAB, has just received official endorsement from the United Nations Ocean Decade. The event now joins the group of globally recognised initiatives contributing to the objectives of this international agenda. Blue Wink-E 2026 will take place on 20 March 2026 at the Porto Cruise Terminal, in Matosinhos, Portugal.

The UN endorsement represents a significant step forward in the international positioning of Blue Wink-E, elevating the status of the event among initiatives aligned with the goals of the Ocean Decade (2021–2030). This global agenda aims to accelerate solutions for a healthier, more resilient, cleaner, safer and more productive ocean, placing science, innovation and international cooperation at the centre of action. In this context, the recognition reinforces the strategic relevance of Blue Wink-E as a platform for convergence between science, industry and decision-makers, focused on creating technological solutions and business models with real impact on the blue and bioeconomy.

The 2026 edition also benefits from institutional support from the Portuguese National Committee for the Ocean Decade and the Portuguese Committee of UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC), further strengthening the strategic framework of the event within national ocean policies.

Ocean AI Futures

Under the theme “Ocean AI Futures”, Blue Wink-E 2026 will focus on the transformative role of artificial intelligence and digitalisation in the blue and bioeconomy.

The 2026 edition aims to showcase how AI is already being applied on the ground, from research laboratories to scalable industrial solutions, bringing science closer to the market and to society.

Blue Wink-E 2026 will bring together international experts, policy-makers, researchers, start-ups, large companies and investors to discuss emerging trends, present case studies and shape strategies for the future of the digital blue economy.

The full Ocean AI Futures programme will be announced soon on the official Blue Wink-E 2026 website.
