The year was 2019, and Blue Bioeconomy Colab, or simply B2E CoLAB, was created to promote the so-called Blue Bioeconomy, incorporating the collective will of relevant scientific and business entities from sectors related to the sea. Shortly after its creation, the first foundations of its strategy, mission, and values were established, namely with a view to increasing the economic and social value of products and services, while creating highly skilled jobs in the sector.

From 2020 onwards, B2E CoLAB is beginning to establish itself as an important bridge between technology and business, knowledge and the market, under the umbrella of the three sectors of the blue bioeconomy with the greatest potential: living marine resources, marine biotechnology, and sustainable aquaculture.

Now entering its third year at full speed, the goal for 2023 is, once again, to make an impact in these sectors: through various R&D projects and notable technical and scientific contributions; through its own initiatives that promote sustainability and ocean literacy in society; through services provided to national and international clients; and through the innovations that the dynamic B2E CoLAB team will devise with our members and partners. Always inspired by the ocean, driven by the market, and fueled by knowledge.
