Dozens of business and scientific contacts and various promotional initiatives made the Blue Bioeconomy Portugal collaborative stand, promoted by B2E CoLAB, one of the most visited at the 2021 edition of Aquaculture Europe, in Funchal, between October 4th and 7th. The stand was also visited by the Minister of the Sea, Ricardo Serrão Santos, and the Regional Secretary for the Sea and Fisheries, Teófilo Cunha, invaluable opportunities to discuss our participating institutions and companies.

As one of the largest European aquaculture events, with an estimated attendance of 1200 visitors, Aquaculture Europe was the perfect occasion for B2E to participate as the promoter of the collaborative stand and the Portugal Pavilion, an unprecedented and exclusive Portuguese area promoted by our CoLAB.

At the collaborative stand, B2E CoLAB presented seven institutions: CIIMAR, Entogreen, NAVIA, University of Aveiro/CESAM, Regional Directorate of the Sea (Madeira), and Seaentia, in addition to B2E itself (stand 116).

As organizers of the Portuguese Pavilion, we also promoted the presence and dissemination of a prestigious national group of representatives from Portuguese aquaculture, including INESC TEC (stand 115), Sparos (stands 117-118), Marismar (stand 104), Necton (stand 106), and Seaculture (stand 103). B2E presented a dedicated program with various initiatives and coffee breaks, offering coffee, water, custard tarts, as well as bananas, wine, and Madeira rum to all participants of the Portuguese Pavilion and their clients, creating a very fruitful network of contacts between all exhibitors and visitors of the fair.

B2E CoLAB would like to thank the following brands for their sponsorship: Aquasoja (main sponsor of the Portuguese Pavilion), Gesba – Banana da Madeira, J Faria & Filhos, Engenhos do Norte, Justino’s Madeira and Restaurante Kampo by Chef Júlio Pereira.

Additional thanks to all the partners, institutions, companies, sponsors and teams that were part of this initiative, in a joint and national exhibition, unprecedented at this event. See you next year for the next edition of Aquaculture Europe in Rimini (Italy), between September 27th and 30th.
