Aquaculture promotes health and ensures the supply of omega-3 in our diets. The OmegaPeixe project aims to produce differentiated fish with high omega-3 content in European sea bass and turbot. To make this innovative product viable in the market, comprehensive research is being conducted with consumers internationally.

METHODS

35 pre-tests and a final sample of 385 valid questionnaires.

The questions are simple, short, and designed to assess:

• consumer willingness to pay for farmed fish fortified with omega-3;
• consumer confidence in aquaculture products;
• identify trends in fish consumption.
