The B2E – CoLAB for the Blue Bioeconomy was chosen by the Matosinhos City Council to energize and promote the discussion of the first meeting of the working group that makes up the Thematic Advisory Council for the Blue Economy and Green Energies. Held at the Matosinhos Youth Center, this event brought together various strategic stakeholders and highlighted the municipality’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Chaired by the Councillor for Economic Activities, Marta Pontes, the meeting was attended by representatives from various institutions, such as the Douro and Leixões Port Authority (APDL), Porto Business School, AICEP, UPTEC Mar, and others. This meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative effort to strengthen the ocean economy in the region.

Facilitated by the B2E CoLAB, the session was divided into two main parts. The first session focused on analyzing the current state of the Blue Economy, while the second addressed future perspectives, with participants organized into working groups to develop concrete proposals. The discussions resulted in several recommendations, highlighting the need for integrated strategies for the development of the Blue Economy in Matosinhos.
