AQUACULTURE

Electrostimulation Waveform Optimization for Enhancing Biomass and Macromolecule Production in Chlorella Vulgaris

This study evaluated the effects of different alternating current (AC) waveforms on the growth and biochemical composition of Chlorella Vulgaris. AC treatments significantly increased biomass, chlorophyll-a, macromolecules, and carotenoid production, with the Pulse-10 waveform showing the greatest improvements. These findings highlight the potential of AC electro-technological applications to enhance the commercial value of Chlorella Vulgaris for food, feed, cosmetics, and biodiesel production.

Single Cell Protein Products with High Digestibility for Use as Aquafeed

The invention describes a composition comprising yeast single-cell protein (SCP) with a degree of hydrolysis of at least 12%, which may reach 28% or higher. This protein is primarily intended for use as a feed ingredient in aquaculture, offering the main advantage of improved digestibility compared with traditional protein sources such as fish meal.

Anticancer and Antimicrobial Activity of Chlorella Vulgaris BA02 Algae Extract Containing Indole-3-Acetic Acid

The study evaluated the effects of Chlorella Vulgaris algae extract and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) on three breast cancer cell lines, as well as the antimicrobial activity of IAA. The results showed that the algae extract was effective against estrogen-dependent cells by inducing apoptosis and oxidative stress, whereas the effects of IAA varied depending on its concentration, the cell line, and the microorganism studied.
