CIIMAR – Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research has assumed the presidency of the Board of Directors of B2E – Blue Bioeconomy CoLAB, reinforcing its commitment to the sustainable development of marine resources and the promotion of the blue bioeconomy in Portugal.

The leadership of the B2E CoLAB Board will be exercised by Ana Paula Mucha, researcher and member of the CIIMAR board. With extensive scientific and strategic experience, Ana Paula Mucha will play a key role in driving innovation and strengthening partnerships between academia, industry, and civil society in the blue bioeconomy sector.

“It is a great privilege to represent CIIMAR as president of B2E CoLAB. We are facing a unique opportunity to enhance collaboration between different actors to promote the sustainable and innovative development of the blue bioeconomy, which is essential for the future of our oceans and the competitiveness of the national economy,” says Ana Paula Mucha.

The vice-presidency will continue to be held by António Isidoro, president of Grupo Soja Portugal, as representative of Sorgal – Sociedade de Óleos e Rações, S.A., while SONAE MC, the University of Aveiro, and Fórum Oceano will join the Board as members, contributing to a diverse and strategic representation.

With this new composition, B2E CoLAB reinforces its position as a platform of excellence for the development of the blue bioeconomy in Portugal, promoting synergies that sustainably and innovatively enhance marine resources.
