The B2E – CoLAB for the Blue Bioeconomy (B2E CoLAB) participated in Aquaculture Europe 2023, one of the largest events in the aquaculture sector, which took place in Vienna, Austria, from September 18th to 21st. With the goal of internationalization in mind, this participation was an opportunity to highlight the prominent role that B2E CoLAB plays in promoting innovative solutions in this area.
“This participation aligned with our internationalization objectives, allowing us to present to a range of stakeholders the driving role we play in the blue bioeconomy sector,” stated Maria Coelho, coordinator of B2E CoLAB.
At the B2E CoLAB stand, some of the projects in which the institution was involved were presented, reflecting its commitment to innovation and sustainability. Furthermore, B2E CoLAB assumed the representation of two associates, INESC TEC and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR), the latter with two specific projects: GREENAQUA and IGNITION. “This collaboration demonstrated B2E CoLAB’s continued commitment to promoting the excellence and research and technological capacity of its associates,” highlighted Maria Coelho.
Also within the scope of Aquaculture Europe, on September 21st, B2E CoLAB held a conference on the results of the study conducted within the OmegaPeixe project, which addressed consumers’ willingness to pay more for fish enriched with omega-3.
This year, Aquaculture Europe 2023 featured the participation of 125 different entities in the exhibitors’ area, demonstrating the growing importance of aquaculture in the global economy.
