Aiming for internationalization and always focused on collaboration, B2E recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Iceland Ocean Cluster, whose mission is “to create value by connecting entrepreneurs, companies and knowledge in the maritime industries”.

The main areas of collaboration will be the exploration of innovative solutions for the sustainable and responsible use of seafood products and their use in biotechnology, without ever compromising the power of networking, cooperation and knowledge exchange in the Blue Bioeconomy.

Portugal is one of the world’s largest consumers of cod, a fish that has a strong connection to Portuguese gastronomy and traditions, thus sharing a history of collaboration with Iceland that can now be continued and boosted through the pursuit of innovative opportunities for both countries.

B2E also collaborates with several other institutions and is a member of EU4Ocean and RISE UP, two global initiatives, the first focused on collaboration and ocean literacy and the second on actions to put the ocean on the path to recovery.
