Maria Coelho, coordinator of B2E CoLAB, was a guest speaker at another session of the Nautilus Seminar Series, promoted by CIIMAR – Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research. The initiative took place at the Cruise Terminal of the Port of Leixões and featured a presentation dedicated to CoLAB’s mission, activities, and flagship projects.
During the session, Maria Coelho highlighted the role of B2E CoLAB as a driving force behind the blue bioeconomy in Portugal, acting as a strategic partner in the valorization of marine resources, the development of blue biotechnology, and the promotion of sustainable solutions for aquaculture. The presentation also introduced the Fishmatter project, a platform geared towards the use of marine by-products, with a focus on circularity and sustainability in the value chain.
With academic training in the areas of Health Sciences and Management, and extensive experience in innovation, Maria Coelho emphasized the importance of bringing science, the market, and society closer together, reinforcing B2E CoLAB’s commitment to solutions with high economic and social impact.
Participation in this seminar reinforces B2E CoLAB’s connection to the scientific community and the blue innovation ecosystem, aligning with its purpose of transforming knowledge into sustainable opportunities.
