General Assembly attended by the Minister of Economy and the Sea
The executive coordinator of B2E – Collaborative Laboratory for the Blue Bioeconomy, Maria Coelho, participated this Monday in the General Assembly of the Inovamar Consortium, within the scope of the Blue Bioeconomy Pact, a mobilizing agenda of €133 million that aims to change the paradigm towards decarbonization. The event was marked by the presence of the Minister of Economy and Sea, António Costa Silva, who reiterated his commitment to sustainability through the sea and, in particular, the blue bioeconomy.
B2E CoLAB is one of 83 national entities, including large, small, and medium-sized companies, start-ups, and research and development institutions that make up the Blue Bioeconomy Pact (PBA) consortium, created under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and led by Inovamar. The total funding is €133 million, €94 million of which comes from the PRR.
Within the various work packages existing in the PBA, B2E CoLAB is involved in four verticals and one cross-cutting one, leading an innovative project that aims to create a Co-products Platform, joined by partners CIIMAR, ISEP, IPMA, UA, and UMinho. The goal, as explained by the executive coordinator of B2E CoLAB, Maria Coelho, during the presentation of this vertical axis at the General Assembly of the Inovamar Consortium, “is to enhance the value of marine and freshwater co-products in Portugal, creating new value chains.” “B2E CoLAB is proud to be part of this initiative and is committed to contributing to the positive transformation of the blue bioeconomy,” emphasizes Maria Coelho.
