Between September 22 and 25, 2025, B2E CoLAB will be present at Aquaculture Europe 2025, one of the largest international events dedicated to aquaculture. The spotlight will be on the innovative Fish Matter and PUFApods projects, initiatives that reinforce B2E CoLAB’s role in promoting marine co-products.

In September, the city of Valencia will be the epicenter of innovation in aquaculture. Aquaculture Europe 2025 will once again bring together researchers, companies, entrepreneurs, and policy makers to discuss the future of the sector, and B2E CoLAB will be present at stand #187 with very concrete proposals for that future.

Participation in the event is an opportunity to affirm B2E CoLAB’s contribution to creating concrete solutions for the market, based on science and innovation, and to developing new sustainable value chains in the aquaculture sector. According to Maria Coelho, coordinator of B2E CoLAB, “being present with concrete results and sustainable solutions is a way of affirming the value of collaborative research and the role that CoLABs can play in the circular transition of the sector.”

Two projects are highlighted. Fish Matter consists of creating a smart platform that adds value to fish by-products (bones, skin, shells, and heads, for example) and can give rise to new value chains in areas such as food, health, and cosmetics.

PUFApods uses vegetable by-products to feed estuarine amphipods, producing biomass rich in omega-3 (EPA and DHA), with strong potential for application in the formulation of aquaculture feed.

At the same time, the B2E CoLAB stand will challenge visitors with the “B2E CoLAB Trivial Challenge,” an interactive quiz where participants can test their knowledge about the ocean.

On September 23, at 5:00 p.m., there will also be a Porto de Honra – Toast to the Ocean! An informal opportunity to learn about the projects, exchange ideas, and strengthen networks.
