B2E – CoLAB for the Blue Bioeconomy will participate in the 2025 edition of Expo Fish Portugal, which this year will take place on December 9 and 10 at the Ílhavo Maritime Museum. The fifth edition of the event, promoted by Docapesca, maintains its hybrid format and brings together hundreds of professionals from the maritime sector, including fishing and aquaculture companies, fish processors, canneries, associations, researchers, public entities, and international partners.

The participation of B2E CoLAB reinforces the growing role of the blue bioeconomy in the debate on the future of fisheries and marine food systems. The organization will bring to the meeting some of its most recent approaches to the valorization of marine resources, the development of biotechnological solutions applied to aquaculture, and the promotion of industrial sustainability through scientific innovation. For Maria Coelho, coordinator of B2E CoLAB, the presence at Expo Fish Portugal “allows us to consolidate the link between science and the market, highlighting the importance of collaborative solutions that respond to the environmental, economic, and technological challenges facing the blue economy.”

With a program combining conferences, themed sessions, and online streaming, Expo Fish Portugal 2025 once again positions itself as an essential meeting place for those who work or conduct research in the marine sector. The new edition also includes the Expo Fish Portugal Innovation Award, which recognizes transformative initiatives in the fish value chain and applied research in the sector.

As in previous years, B2E CoLAB offers the possibility of scheduling meetings throughout the two days of the event, allowing companies and organizations to explore opportunities for collaboration, discuss R&D projects, and identify areas for joint action. Coordination with partners and stakeholders remains a priority for B2E CoLAB, which sees Expo Fish Portugal as a privileged stage for strengthening networks and accelerating the transfer of knowledge to the real economy.

By establishing a presence in Ílhavo, B2E CoLAB reaffirms its commitment to promoting a more innovative, competitive, and sustainable maritime sector, helping to consolidate Portugal as an international benchmark in the blue bioeconomy.
