CoLABs in the Spotlight at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento
On 30th June at 2:00pm, the Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon will host a national event organised by the Fórum CoLAB, aimed at highlighting the impact of Collaborative Laboratories (CoLABs) on Portugal’s science, innovation, and economic development landscape.
The B2E – Blue Bioeconomy CoLAB will take part in this initiative, which will bring together all nationally recognised CoLABs, reinforcing its commitment to delivering sustainable, innovative, and economically viable solutions to the challenges of the ocean and the blue bioeconomy.
With a dynamic agenda, the event will feature keynote speeches, roundtable discussions with representatives from various strategic sectors, and a technological demonstrator session, encouraging the exchange of ideas and showcasing the work being carried out across the CoLAB network. This gathering is also strategically aligned with discussions surrounding the State Budget, underscoring the importance of public policies that support collaborative innovation.
For Maria Coelho, coordinator of the B2E CoLAB, the event represents a valuable opportunity to demonstrate how CoLABs are making a tangible contribution to the country: “Our participation in this event is more than symbolic — it reflects the consistent work we’ve been doing to turn knowledge into real-world impact. At B2E CoLAB, we believe the blue bioeconomy is one of the key drivers of a sustainable transition in Portugal, and that collaboration between science, industry and regions is the way forward.”
Maria Coelho also emphasises the relevance of the moment: “Coming together as a network of CoLABs at such a strategic time for the country is also a clear statement of the value these collaborative innovation models represent for Portugal’s economic and environmental future.”
