Blue Wink-E 2025: The blue future in the circular economy
“Ocean in a Loop” will occur on June 6 at the Porto Cruise Terminal, Matosinhos.
The transition to a circular economy is essential to building a sustainable future, and the oceans play a central role in this transformation. On June 6, 2025, the Porto Cruise Terminal, in Matosinhos, will host Blue Wink-E 2025, an event organized by the B2E CoLAB for the Blue Bioeconomy, which will bring together experts, companies, and opinion leaders to discuss how the blue sector can drive more resilient, regenerative value chains in line with environmental and market requirements.
Under the motto “Ocean in a Loop”, the event will explore how the circular economy can redefine the blue sector, promoting the more efficient use of marine resources and reducing waste. This model not only meets European and international sustainability targets but also opens up new economic opportunities and fosters innovation in areas such as fishing, aquaculture, biotechnology, and manufacturing.
“Blue Wink-E 2025 will be an essential meeting point for those who want to lead the sustainable transformation of the blue sector. Science, industry and public policies need to join forces to create circular solutions that guarantee the future of the oceans and the economic activities that depend on them,” points out Maria Coelho, coordinator of B2E CoLAB.
OCEAN DECADE SUPPORT
The event has the institutional support of the Portuguese Committee for IOC-UNESCO and the United Nations National Committee for the Decade of the Ocean, reinforcing its relevance in the context of international policies and initiatives for marine sustainability. B2E CoLAB is part of the Ocean Decade Stakeholder Forum, actively contributing to the promotion of innovative solutions in the blue bioeconomy and the implementation of strategies aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The event will be a privileged space for discussing global trends and opportunities in the international market, as well as promoting strategic collaborations between companies, investors, and R&D centers.
The full program and list of speakers will be announced shortly, but it is already known that the event will feature an international keynote speaker, two round tables, and a networking lunch, allowing participants to explore new partnerships and business opportunities.
“The blue bioeconomy has enormous potential to create innovative and sustainable solutions, but it is essential to mobilize knowledge and investment. At Blue Wink-E 2025, we want to inspire concrete actions and demonstrate that the transition to a circular blue sector is a real opportunity for the competitiveness and resilience of companies,” says Maria Coelho.
With a world that is increasingly aware of the origin and impact of the products it consumes, the circular economy in the blue bioeconomy has emerged as an essential response to guarantee the sustainability of the oceans and the industries that depend on them. Blue Wink-E 2025 will be the meeting point for all those who want to be part of this change and lead the transformation of the blue sector.
