B2E CoLAB shares strategic vision for the blue bioeconomy at CIIMAR’s Nautilus Seminar

Maria Coelho, Coordinator of B2E CoLAB, was the invited speaker at a recent edition of the Nautilus Seminar Series, organised by CIIMAR – the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research. The event took place at the Porto Cruise Terminal and highlighted B2E CoLAB’s mission, areas of action, and key initiatives.

The presentation focused on B2E CoLAB’s role as a strategic partner in developing the blue bioeconomy in Portugal, particularly through the valorisation of marine resources, innovation in marine biotechnology, and the promotion of sustainable aquaculture practices. Special attention was given to the Fishmatter project — a platform dedicated to enhancing the circularity and sustainability of marine by-products within the value chain.

With a background in Health Sciences and Management, and broad experience in innovation strategy, Maria Coelho underscored the relevance of connecting science, innovation, the market, and society — a core ambition of B2E CoLAB.

This participation strengthened the CoLAB’s ties to the scientific and innovation community, supporting its mission to convert research into sustainable market opportunities.
